How it Works

Laserbuilt.com lets you…

Choose a Material

Review the substrates we feature in the materials section of our site. Each substrate has been carefully tested on our equipment and we have carefully selected materials that yield an exceptional product on our laser.

Calculate a Price

Use our price calculator to get a good idea of the pricing of your project. In order to provide an accurate price, we'll need you to approximate the dimension of the material for your project in square inches and the total length of your cut line in inches.

Start a Job

Start a job by uploading your file, providing some contact information, and selecting your preferred turnaround time. We guarantee a firm quote and follow up within 24 hours of all submissions made on weekdays and Fridays, before noon.

Trust our proven, professional process

1 We generate an accurate quote for you

Exact pricing is calculated from the specific measurements of your uploaded file using the same formula as our online price calculator. This formula is calculated from the area of material required to cut your file and the total length of your cut line. In addition, a rush turnaround time and/or VHB tape application is included in the calculation, if you have requested either of these options.

2 We fine-tune your design files for the laser

Specific types of vector-based files are optimal for laser cutting. Vector files with relatively smooth nodes are necessary for a quality cut. We do require you to provide a clean vector file in order to generate a quality cut, but our dependable operators will fine-tune your file to yield efficient production on our laser equipment. If our operators find that your file needs further adjustment, we will request that you make changes to the file before starting your job.

3 We cut the materials of your choice

Feel free to select your cutting substrate from any of the materials we have in stock. We stock materials that cut cleanly and allow you to create shapes that include fine detail. When available, we offer several thicknesses and finishes for you to choose from. If you don’t find the material you’re looking for, please contact us and we can put you in touch with our partner company to create a custom job for you.

4 If requested we apply adhesive tape

Depending on the final purpose of your design, you may choose to have double sided adhesive tape applied. We stock a 2-mil VHB (very high-bond) tape for application to the substrate prior to laser cutting the material. This ensures full coverage of tape on the backside of the material to make installation of your final piece clean and simple.

5 We carefully check final pieces for quality

Upon completion of your laser cut, we carefully examine the pieces for edge quality, accuracy, and precision. Edges may have slight discoloration when compared to the face finish, but should not be burned. Any parts that have not passed multiple quality control checks will not be released for shipping.

6 We ship your final product

We will carefully package your parts to ensure no damage can take place during the shipping process. Most parts will be shipped flat to save on weight and packaging materials. We always track our shipments and notify you with this information as the package goes out.
